AAT
The AAT is the world's leading professional membership body for Accounting Technicians with over 100,000 members worldwide. Accounting Technicians work at all levels - from Accounts Clerks to Financial Controllers, in all industries and sectors. Some are regulated to provide accounting services on a self-employed basis.
The AAT Accounting Qualification will give you the relevant and practical skills to perform a range of accounting and finance tasks. The course if extremely flexible and open to all, no matter what your age or previous experience. However, you will need a reasonable level of numeracy and English language skills.
Since September 2005 the AAT Accounting Qualification can be achieved via two pathways, the NVQ/SVQ pathway and the Diploma pathway. Both pathways
- provide you with the same high level of relevant and practical skills and knowledge to work effectively as a professional accounting technician
- are assessed by exams and simulations
- provide certificates for each level
- require a final level project
- earn you the same exemptions from the ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW and ICAS examinations
- lead to the AAT Accounting Qualification
- allow you to progress to full AAT memberships and put MAAT after your name
